Ford to cut shifts, lay off some 2,500 workers
      

DETROIT (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co on Monday said it was eliminating shifts at two assembly plants and two engine plants and laying off some 2,500 workers as part of its effort to cut costs and return to profitability.
