Antivirus xp 2008

hey, i recently just got a virus attack. the virus is so called' AntiVirus XP 2008'. i hav remove the virus and the software which generate fake error n virus alerts!!
but my destop/background settings, i cant change the setings!! when i right click my destop, then click properties, i can only see the 'themes,apperance,settings'. there shld also be the wallpaper/background and the screen saver tap!!

can anyone tell me how to restore back settings??(i believe that the virus have done somethings to my destop properties by disable some of the functions!!)

just for ur info, the background was blue, and there will be a yellow box at the center which write "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer?
