Stocks slide on outlook, profit jitters
      

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock index futures slid on Tuesday as disappointing outlooks from bellwethers, including Apple Inc  and Europe's Vodafone , sapped the appetite for riskier assets and put Wall Street on track to follow European equities lower at the open.
