NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ezra Merkin, one of the most prominent hedge fund managers embroiled in Bernard Madoff's alleged fraud scheme, will resign as chairman of GMAC LLC so the finance company will be eligible to receive U.S. taxpayer funds.<div class="feedflare">
