I was just sitting here having a celebratory cocktail instead of drowning sorrows for a change.  I suddenly said to myself that I have to "pee like a race horse".  So as I was relieving myself, I giggled at that old saying.  I got to thinking (yes I do that occasionally, sometimes even before I speak) where that  saying came from.  I remembered it was in Mrs. Haug's second grade music class.  A friend of mine (Bob - we'll keep his last name private to protect him) and I were singing this song in the back row.  He is the first person I heard say that.  So we started singing it that way instead of the "proper" way.  Mrs Haug never heard what we said, but we did get reprimanded for goofing around.  I think with this song being sang in the second grade, I wonder if it is still being taught.  Does this song make gambling and drinking OK?  Recently I was looking for the lyrics for another song we sang in that same class - Pick a Bale of Cotton.  I was flabbergasted at the lyrics and meaning of that song.  Wow - amazing on what has changed over the past several years.  Much of it for the better....
