Increasingly we've seen other companies such as Huawei and now ZTE adopt Xiaomi's 'flash sale' business model. And with that comes the possibility to move a lot of inventory in a short while.

Case in point: today ZTE sold 52,800 Nubia Z7 handsets in exactly 4 minutes and 36 seconds.

The company hasn't given a breakdown of sales by model so we don't know how many of those units were the Nubia Z7, and how many the other two variations - the Nubia Z7 Mini and the Nubia Z7 Max.

All three smartphones were unveiled earlier this month by ZTE. For those in China who weren't able to get their hands on one this time around, there will be a reservation system in place starting tomorrow, for the next batch of devices.

The Nubia Z7 is undoubtedly a true flagship offering, coming with a 5.5" QHD (2560x1440) touchscreen and being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU.

The Nubia Z7 Max isn't actually bigger than the Z7, but it is a tad lower-end. Its screen is the same size, but comes with 'just' 1080p resolution, and it has only 2GB of RAM (compared to 3GB in the top of the line phone).

The Nubia Z7 Mini has a smaller screen, as you'd expect, but at 5 inches it's probably stretching the definition of the word 'mini'.
