Sallie Mae posts 1st-quarter net loss

Reuters - Sallie Mae,  the largest U.S.
student loan company, posted a first-quarter net loss on
Wednesday, hurt by losses on derivatives, and said it cannot
continue lending at a profit in the current environment.
