            The Dalada Exposition was inaugurated this afternoon amongst  a large number of pilgrims..President Rajapakse and First Lady Shirnthie Rajapakse participated in the  ceremony.   The President and the First Lady were the first to pay homage to the  Tooth Relic. The exposition was  initiated under the patronage of the Maha Nayaka Theras   of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters.   It will be continued  till the 16th of this month and will be open to the public  from 1 00 p.m. To 5.30 p.m.. It is after five years that a Dalada Exposition is being held, seeking blessings at a time when permanent peace  is being ushered in. The programme has been  organised under the patronage of Diyawandane Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela  under the guidance of Maha Nayake Theras  of the  Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters.  Giving further details,  the Diyawadane Nilame said that all facilities are being provided for large numbers that throng the Dalada Maligawa.  They  have been provided health facilities, special transport, food  and other common amenities.  A special security programme has been launched for the protection of the pilgrims, with the particiaption of  3000  police officers.  The Diyawadane Nilame requested the people to hoist  Buddhist flags at their houses and the business places during this period. He also requested them not to bring mobile phones, polythene  and  unnecessary  traveling bags.
