As the name suggests, street magic is performing magic tricks on the streets. It basically is magic which is performed at a very close distance to a person and can even be performed inside someone's house. It is extremely casual in nature and is performed by using regular day-to-day items.




The best way to perform good street magic is to be extremely relaxed and casual while performing. As street magic is simply an interaction between the magician and the audience walking on the streets, you have to be extremely comfortable with what you are doing.

Street magic is usually performed with a deck of cards. It is not the amount of knowledge that you have that matters, it is the performance which makes more of a difference. How you hold yourself, how you handle the cards, how you talk, what gestures you make while performing ; these are the most important factors in street magic.

The father of street magic is considered to be David Blaine. He is most famous for his card tricks. Blaine is a master of such tricks. The first thing one realizes when watching Blaine with a deck of cards is that Blaine has been working with cards since childhood. Even though he performs relatively simple tricks known to most artists, but the manner in which he performs, it appears to be truly magical in nature.

He performs simple street magic with such ease and finesse, that he simply stuns the audience. In fact some of Blaine's ardent fans are completely convinced that what he does is truly magic and not a trick.
