Examine the roots of the shrub for any damaged sections or areas where the roots are kinked up or curly. Cut these sections off with the blade of the shovel.

Choose your planting location carefully. The area needs to receive full sun for most of the day and have soil that is loose and drains easily. Dig a hole with a shovel that is deep enough to hold the entire root ball while keeping all of the trunk above the soil. Make the hole three times wider than the roots all the way around to provide room for spreading.

Place the shrub in the new hole so that it is facing in the same direction as it was in the original planting location. Replace the soil around the roots and pat down gently.
Water the area around the shrub two to three days before you plan to transplant. Make sure the surrounding soil is damp several inches down so that the roots will be well hydrated when it is time to move the shrub.
The Yukon shrub is an evergreen plant that produces small white blooms in the spring and orange berries in the winter. The shrub grows quickly and can reach a height of 10 feet if left unpruned. It requires frequent watering and full sun for optimal growth. The Yukon shrub is attractive to birds who enjoy the berries,You are not allowed to view links. Remove the shrub from its present location by digging into the soil 2 feet around the base all the way around. This will prevent damaging the roots of the shrub with the shovel. Place the shovel under the roots to dislodge them from the hole and lift the shrub.
